Press & Media Access

Access to the South-South Awards for members of the press depends on regulations set by the venue and is not in the control of the South-South Awards organizers. As such, entrance and coverage may be restricted. The organizing committee takes all reasonable steps to provide content and press information to representatives of bona fide media organizations that agree to the following criteria:

  • Coverage of the South-South Awards, its organizers, participants and supporters is not made in any way that could be construed as false, libelous or slanderous.
  • All material, including video, photos, graphics and press releases, is attributed to its original source following standard media attribution guidelines.
  • Material provided is not clipped, edited, altered or modified in any way that misrepresents the events or facts of the ceremony.

Where the venue allows media access, specific registration information is provided ahead of time. The South-South Awards Committee reserves the right to deny or revoke media access at its discretion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will heads of state or the UN Secretary-General be attending?

Nominees, honorees and other headline attendees are announced to the media through press releases. Other high-level attendees are not announced in advance, for security reasons.

How can I register as a media representative?

Media representatives can register by contacting pressinfo@southsouthawards.com.

Will the media be given floor access?

Media are given access to the Red Carpet prior to the ceremony. Representatives covering the gala are escorted to a press box with overhead views of the stage and audience. For security reasons, media are not permitted on the main floor.

Who is eligible for interviews?

All guests, honorees and performers who walk the Red Carpet are available for interview, at their preference.
